Target Metabolic Disorders with the Laser “Watch”

Metabolic Support

The laser “watch” is a recent practical development in the systemic application of therapeutic laser. The first phase in the evolution of this type of treatment were studies carried out in the 1980’s by Russian scientists who targeted the whole body by inserting therapeutic laser fiber optic cannulae into the veins. This is called intra-vascular laser therapy. They demonstrated marked improvements in many organ systems, particularly cardiovascular health.

The laser watch directs the therapeutic laser energy through the skin and into the vessels at the back of the wrist. Due to the presence of melanin in the skin, the absorption of the laser energy is far less than the intra-vascular or sub-lingual route. However its major advantage is the comfort and convenience of at-home treatments.

Cardiovascular and Metabolic Improvements

The laser watch is commonly used in Asia and Europe to improve cardiovascular and metabolic disorders such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. In an attempt to confirm the claims made by many people that swear by this handy little device a researcher by the name of Dr. Andreas Wirz-Ridolfi conducted a multi-center pilot study in Switzerland in 2016. He evaluated over three months:

  • Twenty patients between the ages of 18 and 76

  • Two patients had Type I diabetes

  • Eighteen patients had Type II diabetes

In spite of the small size of his study he found a statistically significant response in terms of blood pressure, total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol reduction. He presented a case study of one of these patients: a 62 year old diabetic male patient who had been on regular medical therapy for diabetes and hypertension prior to the study. In the first 3 months of the study he used the laser watch along with his regular medications. In the second half he added oral curcumin as well for 3 months.

HbA1c - an indicator of long term diabetic control: reduced by addition of the laser watch and even more when curcumin was added.

Total Cholesterol: reduced by addition of the laser watch and even more when curcumin was added.

However as it was not a randomized control trial we can only consider these results preliminary. If you have a family history of any of these metabolic disorders or would like to improve your control, we recommend that the laser watch is used in combination with standard medical assessment and treatment rather than as a stand-alone treatment.
